Under NDPS Act, Jammu police registers 245 cases, arrests 322 persons in 2018 | KNO

’192 cases challaned, 53 under investigation’

Jammu, December 27 (KNO) : The document reveals that 322 accused persons have been arrested by the police, revealing that 192 cases were challaned and disposed while as 53 cases are still under investigation. It further reveals that the registration of cases under NDPS act is increasing since 2013, adding that 61, 63, 99 and 177 cases were registered in Jammu region in the year 2013, 14, 15, 16 respectively. Jammu, December 27 (KNO) : At least 245 cases under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been registered in Jammu region in the year 2018 while as the officials claim to have arrested 322 persons involved in the crime. An official document available with KNO reveals that 245 cases under NDPS act were registered in the year while as 251 cases were registered in the year 251. The document reveals that 86.375 kgs of Heroin, 4 ton, 45 quintals and 35 kgs of poppy straw, 24 kg and 415 gms of Charas, 250 gms of opium, 91.470 kgs of Ganja, 22777 numbers of capsules/tab/injections and 2229 bottles of Corex were recovered by the police in Jammu region in the year 2018. It added that the major recovery in the year 2018 include 51 and 50 kgs of heroin were recovered by Police Station Bahu Fort while as 13.3 kg of heroin were recovered from the Police Station Nagrota this year. The cases were registered by team ANANDD under operation ‘SANJEEVANI’ w.e.f from 01-01-2018 to 30-11-2018, the document available with KNO added.(KNO)
